ALBUM REVIEWS:

VOXWAVE MAGAZINE

“Miller sings with a full sense of essence and style. She is distinguished by impeccable taste and a refined energy. The instruments carefully and precisely follow the dramaturgy of the overall statement.”

“…an ode to sound, the artist looks back on the entire journey and realizes that music and voice were the compass all along. Art is not a way to escape inner work, but a way to do it.”

TUNITE MUSIC

”The vocal collaboration between Martha Elizabeth Miller, Daune Campbell, and Marguerite Witvoet adds depth and resonance to the musical texture. Their blended timbres give the album a chamber-choral character that moves naturally between hymn-like stillness and theatrical expressivity.”

” What Lies Within by Martha Elizabeth Miller is a thoughtfully constructed listening experience that rewards attention from beginning to end. Its strength lies not only in its vocal beauty and expressive arrangements, but in its commitment to presenting transformation as a lived psychological process rather than a simplified emotional arc.”

What Lies Within is a psycho-spiritual journey circumambulating the contemplations of my inner life. These twelve songs were selected from dozens of songs written over the years, and together, they tell a story of transformation, following the meandering, spiraling process of becoming one’s true self. I took inspiration from the work of Carl Jung in the curation of this set. I am delighted to have Daune Campbell and Marguerite Witvoet singing vocal harmonies with me on this album. Album recorded at Monarch Studios in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Produced by Martha Elizabeth Miller & Marguerite Witvoet

In addition to streaming, you can buy CDs, as well as digital downloads on Bandcamp, which directly supports me.
