WHAT LIES WITHIN
Hear what curators are saying about the title track!
“Absolutely stunning vocals, loved the delicate harmonies! Fantastic instrumentation, very emotive piano melodies. The arrangement was brilliant, ever changing and very engaging, had me hooked from beginning to end. ~ Maple Sun
"This feels refreshingly unboxed, letting rich vocal harmonies and a wandering form guide the listener rather than a strict structure…” ~Edamur
“The lyrics are quite thick and thoughtful and the overall blend of chamber pop, acoustic folk and classical elements feels unique and deeply soulful” ~Sunrise Coffee
“A striking lead vocal accompanied the theatric feel of the piano very well and felt this hit some big peaks!… ~ Bristol Funk

What Lies Within is a psycho-spiritual journey circumambulating the contemplations of my inner life. These twelve songs were selected from dozens of songs written over the years, and together, they tell a story of transformation, following the meandering, spiraling process of becoming one’s true self. I took inspiration from the work of Carl Jung in the curation of this set.
I like to color outside the lines of genre, blending elements of chamber pop, theater music, folk, classical, choral and progressive pop-rock in whatever way the music moves me, and the music often moves me in delicate, yet epic ways!
Beginning with madrigal singing in my teen years, I’ve always loved singing complex harmonies, and I am delighted to have Daune Campbell and Marguerite Witvoet singing vocal harmonies with me on this album.
In addition to streaming, you can buy CDs, as well as digital downloads on Bandcamp, which directly supports me. With the download you’ll also receive liner notes with lyrics, footnotes, and other background material. And if you buy a CD and send me a message, I’ll happily send you a limited edition hard copy of the liner notes too!
